CENTURY 21 Signature Real Estate has a new addition! We are happy to have William Stokes on board with us as a licensed REALTOR® in the state of Iowa. William will office out of our Urbandale office and will serve the entire Greater Des Moines area. We asked William a few questions on camera to get to know him a little better:
Where are you from?
Born in Newark, NJ and raised in Thomasville, GA
Tell me about your family.
I was raised by some beautiful strong women. My grandma, mother and sister are probably the strongest people i know and in return they have became my motivation. My father passed away when I was 11. The baby boy of 12 siblings. A really BIG family and we all are very close. If you ever see us together you would think we hated each other how we still joke on one another like we are teenagers. My mom can’t wait for family gathers so she can have her own little comedy special.
Hobbies?
Idk, Im kind of a nerd. I read and research mostly. Not a big fan of video games or just watching TV.
What are some interesting facts about yourself?
- Just started a youth mentoring non profit ‘Focus Up Foundation
- Still current sack leader at Waldorf University
- Favorite disney movie “The Lion King”
- I cried during the movie ‘The Notebook’ Lol
What did you do before being a Realtor?
I played professional arena football with the Iowa Barnstormers. Also, having the privilege to work for one of Forbes Top 10 list companies Enterprise Rental-A-Car. My Prayers to the Taylor family! Jack Taylor who is the founder of Enterprise Rent-A-Car just recently passed away in July. RIP Mr. Taylor .
What is your favorite neighborhood in Des Moines/Ankeny/Ames?
The greater des moines area is pretty cool. It has that Small/Big city feel to it. Im still waiting on more live music here.
Why are you passionate about being a Realtor?
I’m passionate about being a Realtor because it gives me the ability in every event to support, educate and empower potential clients while assisting in one of the biggest decisions in their live.
What would you like your future clients to know about you?
I would like my future clients to know that my optimum goal would be to make sure that they are completely satisfied throughout the entire process of finding the perfect positioning for them.
Why did you choose CENTURY 21?
Joe and Laurie! Those two became a source of my motivation and the answers to my prayers because I don’t know what they saw in me but Laurie continued to stay in touch with me over a years plus time just to make sure i stay on track to reach my goals. Can’t begin to thank her enough for her efforts because most people wouldn’t have cared to do so. I am very big on loyalty and after meeting the team – I felt as if Century 21 was a perfect fit for me to begin this new chapter in my life. As for Joe, I actually randomly met Joe at Dewey Dodge when having he car serviced. Working with Enterprise I helped him through his car rental process. Long story short! His wife and I are both alumni to the Waldorf University. We exchanged contact info then I met Laurie and a year and a half later…..I am here!!
