Get to Know Amanda Van Zante:
Where are you from and what’s your family like?
I live north of Pella in a little town called Sully.
I have a husband, Cory, and between the both of us we have four kids ranging from ages 11 to 25. We are a very tight-knit family. We love spending time together and working together. My motto is always, “The family that works hard, plays hard.”
We love to fish and be by the lake and do a lot of outdoor activities. We also do a lot of landscaping and remodeling, we are DIY-ers.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of real estate?
My husband and I love live music and concerts. We love good food, good culture and good friendships.
What is your background?
Before I became a REALTOR®, I worked in various aspects of customer service, sales and logistics for more than 15 years.
What is your favorite neighborhood in the Des Moines area?
I’d pick a couple of neighborhoods. First, Pella because I’ve lived there for a long time and it’s just a town that takes care of itself. Pella means ‘city of refuge.’ The square is beautiful and there are lots of things to do there.
Another place I love is downtown Des Moines. I love how downtown is flourishing with restaurants and venues.
Why did you choose real estate?
It’s about relationships. I want to be able to make a connection with people and help them through one of the biggest decisions of their lives. I chose real estate because home is my favorite place and I want others to find that as well, to experience the joy and value of home.
