Welcome to the team, Stephanie!

What is your name, where are you from, and where do you currently live?

My name is Stephanie Van Veldhuizen, I am originally from Algona, IA and I currently live in Grimes. My husband, Kurt, and I have been married for 3 years – we are expecting our first baby {a girl} early January!

When you’re not busy in real estate, what do you enjoy doing?

When I’m not busy in real estate, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, trying out new restaurants in town, attending concerts, and traveling. I also enjoy serving on the executive board for the Johnston Chamber of Commerce.

What did you do before you became a Realtor?

Before becoming a REALTOR®, I owned an Aveda salon & spa in Johnston for 5 years. I loved getting to meet new people and established lasting relationships through that business.

Why are you passionate about being a REALTOR®?

I am passionate about being a REALTOR® because I truly love helping people through the process of making one of the largest purchases of their life. I get excited right along my clients when we find the perfect home and I love educating them through the process. I understand the vast range of emotions associated with buying or selling a home and I love to help my clients navigate through those emotions.

What tools do you find helpful for your business?

There are many tools that I find helpful for my business. Technology has been a huge help in this once “paper based” industry. I love sharing my personal app with my clients to help them in their search for their new home. I always appreciate when my clients leave me reviews and refer their friends or family to me. That’s how I know that I’m doing my job well!

Any advice for new agents?

My advice for new agents would be to define your values and then find a company that aligns well with those values. I would also tell new agents to find a good mentor who you can shadow through common real estate situations to help you feel more comfortable and confident in your first transactions.

What are three words your clients use to describe you?

I would hope that my clients would describe me as knowledgeable, compassionate, and available.

Why did you choose C21®?

I chose C21® because I was attracted the customer service centered vision of the company. I love that we view this business as less transactional and more relational. I love networking with new people, but even more, I love building on those relationships over time.

What do you like about the culture here at C21®?

I love the culture at C21® for a lot of reasons! I immediately felt welcomed by everyone on the team. I know that I have all of the support I could possibly need right at my fingertips. I feel that the agents at C21® have each other’s backs and will step in to help whenever needed.

What’s your favorite neighborhood in Des Moines/Ankeny?

I don’t have one particular “favorite” neighborhood, as I enjoy serving all of the Greater Des Moines area, but I would say I am a little partial to my “home base” which is the Grimes & Johnston communities.
