We are happy to welcome Shannon Higdon to our growing Ankeny office. Shannon grew up in Ankeny, and has a background in corporate staffing, which she feels will transition well into real estate. We got to know Shannon a little better on camera.
Where are you from?
I’m from Ankeny, Iowa.
Tell me about your family.
I have been married for just over a year to my husband Matt. I’m originally from northwest Iowa where my parents still live and brother’s family is close to, but I’m lucky to live close to my sister in Ankeny.
Hobbies?
I love doing all sorts of summer activities – camping, boating, fishing, and swimming. I also really love to read and have recently tried my hand at making a few quilts.
What did you do before being a Realtor?
I was in staffing and corporate recruiting before becoming a Realtor.
What is your favorite neighborhood in Des Moines/Ankeny/Ames?
There are a lot of really neat houses in Beaverdale, but I love living in Ankeny as it is growing and with it, bringing new restaurants and shopping to the area.
Why are you passionate about being a Realtor?
I’m passionate because I know so many people who have had difficult, stressful or unsatisfactory experiences in buying or selling homes, and I want to make the experience as fun and positive as possible for my clients.
What would you like your future clients to know about you?
From my experience in recruiting, I value relationship-building, really understanding the client’s needs, and providing consistent communication and feedback.
Why did you choose CENTURY 21?
Training was really important to me, and Century 21 offers an excellent program for new agents. They also discussed their client-focused approach to building relationships and providing value to their customers that really resonated with me.
What do you like about the culture here at C21®?
The culture at C21® is very team-oriented, with many events for team members to come together and learn, share experiences, and ultimately have fun.
