We would like to welcome Bob Hoffman to our team of agents in Ankeny! “Before I became a REALTOR, I was a high school Industrial Technology “shop” teacher for 38 years… I am a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa and my wife recently retired from the UNI, so in our house we bleed purple. GO PANTHERS!” said Hoffman.

Welcome to the team, Bob!

“Hi I am Bob Hoffman.
My wife and I moved to Des Moines 2 months ago,
from Cedar Falls. In Cedar Falls, we lived in a 2
story house with full basement to our Des Moines 2
bedroom apartment on the 9 th floor. We are at the
stage of our lives where we needed to start
downsizing, which can be a real challenge. The
reason why, we moved to Des Moines, is to be
closer to our oldest son, Andy and his wife Abby,
they live in Urbandale with our 2 grandsons which
are under the age of 2. We plan on getting away
from the cold Iowa winters and spending time with
our youngest son Adam and his wife Kait. They live
in Savannah Georgia only 5 minutes away from the
beach.

When I am not busy with real estate, my wife and I
enjoy biking, camping, and traveling. We currently
are enjoying the beautiful Des Moines bike trails, it
amazing you can literally bike anywhere. We are
tent campers, we have camped all over the U.S. and
in Europe, camping is a great way to meet local
people.

Before I became a REALTOR, I was a high school
Industrial Technology “shop” teacher for 38 years. I
retired from teaching 4 years ago, and started my
career as a REALTOR with Inspired Real Estate in
Cedar Falls. I am a graduate of University of
Northern Iowa and my wife recently retired from
the UNI, so in our house we bleed purple. GO
PANTHERS!

I found Century 21 from my broker with Inspired
Real Estate. He and several other Inspired Real
Estate Agents have had several referrals with
Century 21. I researched the Century 21 office and
noticed that Abbey Robinson is one of your agents.
Abbey was a student at my school and I taught
several of her sisters Drivers Ed. I called Abbey and
she describe the Century 21 atmosphere and gave
me Dylan’s contact information.

I especially like the culture and atmosphere here at
Century 21. They have an abundance of resources,
helpful staff, emphasize the importance of training,
and developing relationships with your clients.

Being a REALTOR and a teacher are very similar. I
try to teach new buyers the entire process of
purchasing a home and use a flow chart showing all
the steps involved. For a new buyer or someone
who has not sold property in a long time, it can be
confusing and stressful, this is why I feel it is
important to keep clients informed with the entire
home buying/selling process. No one like surprises.

My focus as a REALTOR would be to help new
buyers understand the home buying process. Also
to help people like myself, who need to sell their
large home and downsize into a smaller dwelling.
Three words to describe myself:
Energetic, Friendly, and Frugal.
Any advice for new agents?
Be patient, Be Truthful, Listen, Timely,” said Hoffman.
